Now how’s this for inspiration… a psychedelic fantasy short film called Solipsist based on the idea of convergence and unison between living things.

One of the highlights of this year’s Saatchi & Saatchi New Directors’ Showcase at Cannes Lions, it’s a feast of visual effects, featuring everything from feathered dancers and underwater puppets to bodies disintegrating like wind-blown, drifting sand.

It takes its name from the philosophical theory of Solipsism, where one can only know or prove that their own mind exists. Said director Andrew Thomas Huang: “The isolation of this theory inspired me to imagine a counter-hypothesis – a world in which living beings are not constrained by a singular experience.  Rather, the characters in this film are constantly merging into one another, forming a collective consciousness through unison of their minds and bodies.”
