So much has been happening that I haven’t even told you this, which is crazy! But yeah, I actually got a paid job related to what I’ve been studying!
I’m now a trainee working with buying and product development for the Norwegian fashion brand WOW. They make clothes for girls between the ages 7-15 and they’re the only store in Scandinavia to exclusively design for this age group.
After sending in my application I went through two interview rounds and they talked two a couple of my references, and then I was offered the job! I’ve been working there for 4 weeks now and I’m really enjoying it so far.
WOW is owned by “Varner-gruppen” a company who owns a number of Norwegian clothes brands that are sold in scandinavia and some other places in Europe (Cubus, Bik Bok, Dressmann, VOLT, Urban, Carlings, Solo, wearhouse, dressmann XL and of course WOW). WOW is one of the smallest brands, but we get to enjoy the convenience of having access to all the facilities and services that the bigger companies use. It’s a great situation to be in since I get to work with quite varied tasks since we’re only 5 people in the office doing everything from clothes design and buying to marketing and overviewing the 32 stores we have.
Yesterday was particularly fun as a production sample of a dress I had designed as a suggestion for SS2014 came in the mail 🙂 We all liked it, so who knows, it might end up in the stores this summer!
